Mixed media is my favorite form of art. I love it. Everything about it. Its my first choice of things to do in my spare time. Its became a passion.
The mixed media project that I've made for this DT call for ColourArt  is an 8x10 canvas.
I first painted the canvas 2 different shades of pink with acrylics.
Then I adhered scrapbook paper to the canvas using mod podge

After the canvas had dried in went back and added watered down brown acrylic paint with a baby wipe. Just to give it that aged look.

Now its time to add some more texture to our canvas. I smeared molding paste over a honey comb shaped stencil in opposite corners . adding texture adds interest to your canvas.

Using a template I cut a dress form out of cardboard. I cut several out and glued them together to add dimension to it. I covered it with coordinating paper and inked around the edges. Then I adhered it to the canvas.
Now we add fibers. Different fibers ,ribbon and lace was glued to the dress form with my hot glue gun. I used hot glue for the ribbon and lace at the bottom just because I'm impatient and I hate waiting for glue to dry .

Now we are going to add hand made paper roses made for me by my niece. I love her flower work, she's amazing with flowers. Since this is going in my daughters room I couldn't resist adding them.
I added a frame and chandelier and flat back pearls.
Inside the frame I added a quote that I made with my label maker. I distressed the quote with a little watered down brown paint, just to keep with the aged theme on this canvas.
I hope you like my canvas project. I had such a good time playing in paint and that's what it's all about, right?
