Blowing in The wind

Yes, how many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea ?
Yes, how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free ?
Yes, how many times can a man turn his head
Pretending he just doesn't see ?
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Today's craft challenge for Her Craft Krea8tions was to make something that "blows in the wind". Each design team member received beads, chimes, nightmare fishing line, a jingle bell, and a twirly thingie dooie (that's a technical term!). Everyone was encouraged to add things from their stash to make it their own and to go "green" without buying anything additional!!!!

With this all being said, everyone and the fishing line were not on "speaking terms". Lynne Kirsh had knots galore and would give up and pitch it and her one cat would return it expecting her either to throw again or finish ... your guess is as good as her's! Several never ever want to see fishing line again!!!!! Thus, the grand prize will be 100 yards of fishing line .... ha ha, just kidding!!!! It will be a surprise package to one lucky recipient that remarks on everyone's stop along the way!

I would love to show you beautiful wind chimes hanging from a tall weeping willow tree in the middle of a peaceful lush green landscape....Yep I'd love to but it's not gonna happen, because first of all I dont live near anything like that and second my wind chimes project was anything but beautiful. But as fate would have it, my mangled , knotted, tangled mess had tangles and knots in the the wrong places. My disaster of a project met its death as the end knots released and the beads fell and rolled into the darkness between my front porch slats never to be seen again.
Since I feel like I cheated you out of a pic and a project due to a hungry front porch...How 'bout some blog Candy ??
Leave a comment on ALL my DT Sisters blogs , of course our DT Blog as well as this one, leave a way for me to contact you and one randon winner will be chosen for a Sweet Little Treat...Have a Great Day!!

Welcome to the Team Princess bi-weekly blog hop for Scrapping With Lisa’s Designs.  This week Team Princess is working on the Blue Bird from the Birds Pattern set.  However, there are a few challenges that go along with the blue bird.  We were not allowed to create the bird in blue, nor were we allowed to create a card or a layout.  We hope this shows the real versatility in Lisa’s patterns.

One really nice thing about Paper Piecing with Lisa’s patterns is you can cut them out with a machine, or you can cut them out by hand.  She also provides a digital image of each as well.

Our blog hop starts here,  http://scrappingwithlisadesignsdt.blogspot.com/ , so please start from the beginning and spread your wings to fly from one blog to the next and check out the wonderful designs by team princess.

You will find the Bird patter here, (http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_17/Birds.htm

Here's my project for our Dt Hop.

I love the actual project, but I was not super happy with my cage. I will eventually re~do the cage (heeheee)  I think the bars should have been smaller so you can see this adorable bird.
I love this file, it's my favorite so far. Just because I can do so much with this lil guy.
I hand cut this cutie, I adjusted the sizing of my bird by changing the settings on my printer.

To make the cage cut 4 -12 inch strips, I would cut them about a 1/4 inch wide or else your bars will be bulky like mine. The strips are held together with a brad. them hot glued to the sides of a small plastic tray.

I glued a ribbon to the back of my bird and then ran the ribbon up through the brad. so he would hang in the cage. Glue a stip of coordinating paper around the outer edge of the cage to cover the glued strips .
I hope you like this little project. I know you will love  this file. I thought of a ton of things to do with him. I know you will also. please don't forget to post your pics on the Scrapping with Lisa Designs FaceBook Page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Scrapping-with-Lisa/130882060268842 .

I can't wait to see what you do with this birdie ! Have a Blessed Day.

    Flower Garden Blog Hop

Welcome to Scrapping with Lisa's Designs Design Team displaying Lisa's file Flower Garden, http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_33/Flower-Garden.htm, which is available in her store. There are 5 great flowers which the Design Team will showcase in various ways to show the versatility of this file.
I decided to alter a photo matting for our blog hop DT project. I love these flower files and I know you will also. These were all cut by hand, so if you don't have a cutting machine you can still use Lisa's Designs.
This is an 11x14 frame & mat cut to fit an 8x10 picture. This is a picture of my parents. The Lord took my Mom home to be with him March 2nd of this year and we just found out my Dad will start his battle with lung cancer in a few weeks. So I wanted to do something to honour them.
My parents only had 1 copy of this picture, I think it was for a church bulletin. So I have made copies for my family. This project will be given to my Sister as a surprise.
              Recipe:

I cover the photo mat that came in the frame with scrapbook paper. I picked out the flowers I wanted to use on this project from Lisa's Flower Garden file. adjusted the sizing on my printer to size I wanted them. printed on color cardstock and hand cut.I embellished them alittle with glitter (of coarse) and a few jewels..So you dont have to have a cutting machine to enjoy these flower files.
I hope you like my DT project. Thanks for stopping by. Please show some love to my DT sisters and hop along with us .

Wouldn't want you to get lost along with way of the garden path. Here is the complete line-up with both teams combined.

~More of Scrapping with Lisa Designs~

Thanks for stopping by my lil blog today. I've been having a blast paper piecing lately. I love the New Design Team that I"m on.  It's 'Scrapping with Lisa's Designs.'  We were given a challenge to use the adorable little lady bug in Lisa's Designs. So here's what I done. This is an altered Canvas that I made for a friend of mine. This will hang in her Great Granddaughters room over her crib. The canvas was painted with pink and white acrylic paint and swirled together. The Ladybugs are cut from pink cardstock and covered in glitter and bejeweled a little bit. All the edges have been inked. I glued them to the canvas and decopodged them to seal them. the flowers are made from my cricut flower shoppe card and the letters are cut from my cricut classic font cartridge.
If your looking for some really cute way to decorate, this is a fun project. Check out Scrapping with Lisa Designs for your own lil ladybugs :)  Thanks for Stopping by my blog today. I hope you liked my ladybugs.Leave me a comment and let me know wha ya think. Have a great Day!!

    Design Team Challenge

Welcome to the Kari's Purplies Design Team Challenge.  Kari Had given us the challenge to alter a notebook and add the flower to it from the last Design Team Challenge.
I had alot of fun with this.  So here's the flower that my notebook had to be designed aound....

And here's what I started with...just a plain compositional notebook that I picked up for 14 cents at wal-mart at the begininng of the school year and 1 piece of glittered paper.
I cut the paper to fit the front of the notebook and glued it in place.

I cut the leaves and the " inspire"  sentiment from the cricut cartridge Home accents.  THe leaves are cut at 2 inches and the "inspire" sentiment at 1 1/2 inches.
I added a little bling and of coarse it wouldn't be my project if it didn't have glitter on it ! lol...I outlined all the leaves and the sentiment with Glitter.
I hope you like my altered notebook... please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Thanks for stooping by and have a Blessed Day.

Here are my DT sisters please stop by and show them soome love.

Now for my project for the day. I made a scrapbook layout. I 'm thinking that if I keep making layout pages for the blog hops I'm in I will get caught up on my kids scrapbooks...LOL. It's a good idea but not sure it's working.
    So here it is...

I used the pooh and friends to cut the tree and grass. Everyday dress up dolls for the fish.I added a little glitter to the fish, because fish shine and mainly because I LOVE GLITTER  :)
I like to do journaling, So I always leave room on my pages to do that. I try to leave room for the kids to add their memory about the pic as well and I know I have more pics from this trip but couldn't find them (grrr I hate when I do that) so I left room for them to.I hope you like my project for this hop.

    Purplies Design Team Challenge

Welcome to Our Design Team Challenge
Kari had given us the challenge of making a flower. As you travel through the Purplies Design Team Blogs you are going to see some amazing flowers and the recipes to make them. I hope your as excited as I am, cause I love love love making flowers :)
My favorite flowers are the ones that look beautiful but are easy peasy to make LOL... which the brings you to mine (hehehe)
This flower is sooo easy to make.
                                                ~~recipe~~
    Flower Shoppe Cartridge
    2 <sunflower> @ 3 inches
    1 <sunflower > @ 2 1/2 inches
    1 <scallope> @ 2 inches
glitter glue and 4 pearl picks
ink pads ( I used red, white and ditressing brown)

Before you start to assemble your flower now is the time to use your ink pads. I used the Tim Holtz Distressing Ink -vintage photo first on the edges of all the petals, then went over it in red. I took a white ink pad and just dabbed all the cuts.just to break up all that pink. now your ready to assemble your flower...

Stack flower petals on top of each other ( biggest petal on bottom) stagger the petals , roll the scallope cut up, be sure to glue it as you go or it will loosen up and come unraveled ( I know from experience )
after the scallope is completely rolled up, glue it to the center of the sunflower petals. I rolled the petals of the sunflower around the handle of a small paint brush to give them a little curve.
I added the pearle picks to the center beneath the scalloped flower. Then I added glitter glue to the edges of all the petals so the would catch light ( I love glitter)  and show a little diminsion.  There you have an easy flower. I hope you like it.
Thank you for stopping by my Blog today . Be sure to stop by my DT sister's Blogs and see their beautiful flowers as well.

I made a scrapbook layout for my project today. This layout is of my youngest daughter Mckenzie's concert. She recently just awarded 2 Gold medals for her performaces . Yes, I think she's awesome !! She is a very talented young lady.
My Favorite quote is by Hans Christain Anderson " Where words fail, Music speaks."  and it's so true, isn't it?

I Used the Quarter Note cartridge to make this layout. I highlighted Mckenzie by cutting and oval in vellum, placed over her pic .I painted glitter on the vellum (not real happy with that effect) because the vellum looked to plain. I will def try another effect instead of the glitter next time :)

I always leave the layouts I do for Mckenzie's scrapbook a little plain because she likes to add names/ dates and other info to her book.
Well there it is, I hope you like it. Oh by the way I LOVE this cart. if your child is in band or plays any instrumement at all I do recommended it. All 3 of my kids play something so my cart will gets used alot LOL. Be Blessed.
